First Team Coach Paul Trollope was pleased with the result against MABI tonight but, more importantly, with the performance of his team.

Rovers registered a 4-0 win, with striker Josh Klein-Davies scoring all four.

"Josh managed to get four goals, in what was a good team display," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk adding "The pitch and the surroundings were nice and it was a hot evening.

"It was a very good workout for us and it was pleasing that some our younger players, and some of the senior players, got ninety minutes under their belt.

"It was also pleasing to keep a clean sheet, something I think we achieved comfortably against a side who were probably made to look worse than they were, as they were very good, technically, and had pace up front.

"They were technically good, especially through the midfield areas, and had some good movement which meant we had to work very hard, though their threat was nullified very well by Craig Hinton and Byron Anthony.

It was good to see some of the younger players play a full game, as well as welcoming Ryan Green back into the side.

"Tom Parrinello, James Fraser and, obviously Josh, coped very well on the night. You never know how players will perform in different surroundings but they all did very well.

"It was a good exercise and to score four goals, and for Josh to net all of them, was very good.

"We are also very pleased that some of our key players came through ninety minutes, and that their fitness looked very good

It was also good to see Ryan Green back in the side It was a worrying time for him last season, with the operation on his Achilles.

"It's never a nice operation, and there are no guarantees that it will be successful, so we are delighted to see him back. As always, his quality shone through, and he seemed to get back in the groove easily and produced an assured display."
