FC COPENHAGEN MATCH REPORT
Rovers slipped to defeat in the first friendly of their Scandinavian tour.
Leading through a Jeff Hughes goal at the break, they gifted their opponents three second half goals before Sean Rigg scored a second for Paul Trollope's side in the final; minute.
Altjhough there was a light breeze blowing aroundn the well appointed FC Copenhagen training ground, conditions were hot and humid.
However Rovers were quick to settle and created the first opportunity of the game but home keeper Nathan Cohen comfortably saved a third minute free kick from Jeff Hughes.
Steve Phillips was then called into action, when he also saved comfortably, from Junior.
Seldom looking in any trouble, Rovers knocked the ball around well and created a number of chances. Steve Elliott headed over from a Stuart Campbell corner, Chris Lines hurried a shot when well placed and Craig Disley was denied a goal when his header, from a Campbell free kick, was touched round the post by Cohen.
Phillips saved well from Junior in a rare home attack, but Hughes scored his first goal for the club when he crashed a shot past Cohen following good work down the left by Joe Jacobson and Darryl Duffy.
Where Rovers had been positive in the opening 45 minutes, they were hesitant after the break.
An uncharacteristic mistake by Danny Coles gifted Thomas Christensen a shooting opportunity and he gave Phillips no chance from 20 yards out, to equalise.
That was ten minutes in, and on 71 minutes, a second goal arrived. Phillips did well to parry a thundering drive from Junior, but Kevin Beckman was first to react to the loose ball and bundled it over the line.
A mix up between Craig Hinton and Phillips allowed substituteKaspar Winfield to score a third, but Sean Rigg pulled a goal back in the final minute when he shot past Cohen from the edge of the area.
