TROLLS WANT TO FINISH WITH A WIN
Paul Trollope is looking forward to the weekend meeting with Leyton Orient as a chance to finish the season on a high.
The first team coach says his players should treat the Brisbane Road clash as they would any other game, and prepare for it with the same determination and professionalism.
Both clubs have struggled somewhat over the latter stages of the campaign, and Paul believes both sets of players will have something to prove as they go into the summer.
"We will try to approach it as if it were any other game, and prepare for it as if it was the play-off final," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "It's the next game, so it's the most important game, and we want to be sure we are professional in all we do ahead of it.
"We're in good spirits, but we want to end the season on a high and it would be nice to do that with three points this weekend. We've had a disappointing run of home results which leaves us with a home record we're not too proud of, but our away record has been good and we want to continue that.
"Leyton Orient were up there for the first half of the season, but they've tailed off a bit over recent months, although like us they will want to finish with a win."
After the weekend the players will enjoy another week or so of post-season training before heading off for their holidays.
"We'll be together for another ten days for some training sessions, and then it's important for the players to have a rest, but not for too long," said Paul.
"On the staff and admin side we'll be looking at squad numbers to see where we need to add and who we can add, and as always we'll be trying our best to get people in.
"We need to improve the squad, and it's always the aim to do that quickly. But summer wages and player options need to be considered, so although we'd like to have two or three in before the end of May, it's more likely to be June or July."
As well as new faces coming in, a number of players are set to leave the club for pastures new.
"My mind's made up now, and that can't be changed in two days," said Paul, "We've had a lot of circulars about players available, although as yet no calls regarding any of our players."
