TROLLS DISAPPOINTED AT LOSS
Paul Trollope said last night's 1-0 home defeat against Swindon Town was "very disappointing".
The result leaves Rovers in 16th place in League One and ends any possibility of a top half finish.
The season now concludes with the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday before Leyton Orient away seven days later.
"It was very disappointing," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "It's never nice to lose at home, and this was no different.
"We've not had a particularly good home record of late, but we were looking to be bold and to take the three points. For the first hour we looked ok and probably shaded it, but then we conceded from a set-piece and if I'm honest the response after that was disappointing.
"Swindon saw the game out very well, but we failed to respond in our normal way, and the manner of the defeat was frustrating.
"As ever, the biggest crime for us was missing chances, because you have to score goals to win games. It's about putting the ball in at one end and keeping it out at the other, and we don't seem to have sufficient quality to do the latter at the moment.
"It's nothing new, we've said it before, and it's something we've tried to remedy. We'll be looking to address the situation in the summer and bring in attacking players with quality and people that can stick the ball in the net under pressure.
"For now though we are what we are and we need to get out of this slump. We need to pick ourselves up and bounce back on Saturday, and make sure we end our home season on a positive note."
