Josh Klein-Davies says the Rovers faithful have helped him make the step up from reserve football to the first team.

The young striker made his second start in Pirates colours yesterday, lining up alongside Rickie Lambert in attack.

Josh scored on his debut against Huddersfield Town a couple of week ago, and feels he's settling in well to the Rovers starting 11.

"The fans have been great to me, especially coming from the other side of Bristol and playing for the other team," Josh told bristolrovers.co.uk, "I thought they might have given me a bit of stick, but they have supported me and helped me through."

Although Josh didn't manage to find the back of the net against Hartlepool United, he was pleased with his general performance.

"I thought I did ok and gave a good account of myself," he said, "I was disappointed to come off, but I know my fitness is something I need to work on.

"I had a couple of chances, and I am always looking to have shots on goal. As a forward you need to be looking to shoot when you can, because if you don't shoot you don't score. I need to work on my heading, and hopefully if I do that I can get a few goals from that side of my game as well."

Josh will be hoping to make a big impact on the club's fortunes next season, but for now he's looking to help ensure a strong end to the campaign.

"Next season will be good, but at the moment we're concentrating on this season and we're determined to make sure it doesn't just fizzle out," he said, "We want to win every game we play, and we'll be looking to take that attitude into Tuesday.

"I haven't played at Nottingham Forest before, but it should be a good game. I've spoken to a few of my friends and they say it's a great ground with lively fans, so hopefully I'll get a chance to play a part and experience that on Tuesday night."
