CAMPBELL LOOKS FORWARD TO AWAY DAYS
Stuart Campbell says the players are looking forward to three games away from the Memorial Stadium after yesterday's scoreless draw with Hartlepool United.
The captain believes the club's home pitch has a negative impact on the way the team try to play, and that ultimately it costs points.
Rovers travel to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, AFC Bournemouth next Saturday, and then Walsall a week on Tuesday.
"The pitch isn't ideal, and it's not really conducive to the way we try to play," Stuart told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We have to change our style really. But it's not going to get any better now so we just have to get on with it.
"The first half on Saturday we created a few chances, and a couple of them were clear-cut, so we're disappointed we didn't take them. But the second half they pinned us back, the game got scrappy, and we just never got going.
"The conditions played a part, but we need to put that result behind us now and move on. It's been a while since we've won, and we'll be looking to change that over the next three away games before we come back home again."
The draw with Hartlepool means Rovers haven't won a first team fixture for over a month, a run Stuart knows the players need to put right.
"Forest is a great game to look forward to on Tuesday, and we know they go a bit gung-ho at home so we'll need to be right on it to get a result," he said, "They are going to come out and have a real go at us, but we believe we have the ability to go there and get a result.
"We've done well away from home this season, and we're looking forward to these next three matches. We need a couple more wins to make sure we're definitely safe, but if we perform like we have done of late, the second half of Hartlepool aside, then I'm sure the wins will follow."
