Sean Rigg says he is pleased to have finally agreed terms for an extra two years with Rovers.

The young striker will complete the formalities of his new contract today, securing his future at the club until the summer of 2010.

"I'm happy to sign and have got everything sorted out," Sean told bristolrovers.co.uk, "It's been ongoing over the last few weeks, but there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to stay here.

"I've got confident in my own ability and Trolls and Lennie have shown confidence in me, and I think that's why I've been offered a new deal. Over the next two years now I just want to be as positive as I can and see where it takes me."

After rising through the youth and reserve teams, Sean is hoping his progress continues at a steady rate.

"I've come through the youth and reserve teams and then made a few substitute appearances," he said, "Then I had a few starts, and it's gone on from there. Hopefully there are a few more starts before the end of the season, and maybe come goals as well.

"Next season I want to push on even more, and hopefully start games regularly. Things began well for me this year until I picked up the hamstring injury, so I hope to enjoy a good end to this season and a goods start to next and see where that takes me."
