Chris Lines says Rovers must put the disappointment of last night's defeat behind them and get ready for a "six-pointer" at the weekend.

The Pirates welcome Huddersfield Town to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday, a team currently just two positions higher up in the table.

Chris says seeing off the Terriers is crucial if the players are to keep alive any faint hopes of making the end of season play-offs.

"Saturday is massive for us now," Chris told bristolrovers.co.uk, "Huddersfield is a real six-pointer for us, and we need a win. We've still got games in hand, and if we can win those and pick up a couple of good results, then we could still be in with a shout.

"We need the fans to try and be positive and to stay with us in games, I heard a few moans yesterday and they've got to get behind us and be patient. We are giving 100 per cent in every game, but we are a passing team and sometimes we go backwards or sideways to keep the ball."

Yesterday's defeat was marred by incident and controversy, not least thanks to a trademark random refereeing display from Uriah Rennie.

"We were didappointed not to get a penalty in the firs thalf when Rickie Lambert was clearly pushed in the back, and then at the other end he gives them one when Byron clearly got the ball," said Chris.

"You could see Byron got the ball, it was impossible for him not to with the angle and the way he and the ball came out. I said that to the referee at the time, but he wasn't going to change his mind.

"That sums up our luck to some extent, over the last three or four games we've played ok but we haven't had the results and that's the most important thing for us. We have been unlucky, but we've got to go out and try and make our own luck."

Swansea's Febian Brandy was sent off towards the end of the contest for a challenge on Danny Coles, which Chris says was one decision the official did get right.

"Colesy went to clear the ball, and their lad went in really late with a bad challenge," he said, "He deserved a red for that, but I think the referee said the card was for him raising his hands, but the tackle was bad enough to be honest."
