STATEMENT AFTER TUNNEL INCIDENT
Bristol Rovers have confirmed that an incident took place in the tunnel after this evening's League One match against Swansea City.
As a result of that incident, one person has been arrested.
The club's safety officer Dave Harper confirmed the following to the press after the match: "There was an incident in the tunnel involving players and staff from both sides, and that incident is being investigated at the moment by the police.
"One man has been arrested and taken to a local police station, but until the incident has been fully investigated and we get copies of the police report I can't go into any more detail at this stage.
"The referee did not see the situation, but he has been made fully aware of what went on.
"It was quite heated, but I must restrict my comments to that at the present time."
When asked specifically by a media representative about Danny Coles' possible involvement, Dave added: "He was one of the individuals involved in the incident but he has not been arrested."
Enquiries are now continuing with the police, and if and when the club has anything additional to add a further statement will be released.
