Paul Trollope says the hectic schedule of fixtures has both plus points and negative points as the season comes to a close.

Rovers play Swansea City at the Memorial Stadium tomorrow night and then at the Liberty Stadium next Monday evening.

And between those two matches there's the visit of Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon - three important fixtures in less than seven days.

"It's an intense period for us, but potentially a good period," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We've got three games coming up in a short space of time, and there is an opportunity to pick up some points very quickly.

"We were disappointed with our performance level and the result against Northampton, and the result against Cheltenham. But the performance on Saturday at Cheltenham was better, and we were pleased to get back to that standard.

"Sometimes you get games where the scoreline is underserved, and we felt that was certainly the case at Cheltenham. But we also believe that if we produce that kind of performance over the run-in then we will win a lot of games and more often than not come out on top."

Three points against Swansea tomorrow night could catapult Rovers up towards the middle of the table, still with games in hand on the teams in the top half.

"We have got high expectations within the group, and those expectations have been set by the players themselves," said Paul, "So when we fall below those expectations as we did in the second half against Northampton we are very disappointed.

"We still want to be in the top half of the table, and if we do that then who knows. The play-offs are still a long shot at the moment, but we've still got a great belief about us that we can end the season positively."

Swansea go into tomorrow's match in indifferent form, and Paul knows it might just be a good time to be playing the division's best team.

"At the moment we're all focused on the game," he said, "They are the league leaders and it will be a tough match. We will give them a lot of respect, but at the same time we know thye've had a few blips lately so maybe it's a good time to play them.

"They need to get back on track because the pack behind them are slowly catching up and they will want to stay on top. It's a tough test for us, but if we play to our standard then we hope it will lead to a win."
