FIVE LIVE COMING TO THE MEM
Bristol Rovers and BBC Radio Five Live are inviting fans to a night of nostalgia at the Memorial Stadium ahead of Saturday's FA Cup fifth round clash with Southampton.
The club will be screening a video of the 1978 FA Cup match against Southampton, which Rovers won 2-0 thanks to two goals from Paul Randall.
A number of the team who triumphed that day will be coming along to share their memories of the game.
Those who have already confirmed include Stuart Taylor, Peter Aitken, Phil Bater, Graham Day and manager Bobby Campbell.
Radio Five Live will be watching the game with the fans and broadcasting live from the Memorial Stadium, talking to members of the old team ahead of Saturday's big match.
All supporters are welcome, and the club hope to encourage as many fans as possible to come down and create a good atmosphere.
Rovers director Barry Bradshaw told bristolrovers.co.uk: "This will be an exciting evening of nostalgia, and we are encouraging as many fans as possible to come along, watch the video and meet some of the old team.
"Anyone is welcome to attend, and we are especially hoping to see a few older fans who were at the game in 1978. It will be a great opportunity to relive past memories, as well as looking forward to future successes."
The evening will take place in the Clubhouse Bars on Friday night between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. The bar and snack kitchen will both be open.
Radio Five Live broadcasts on 909 and 693 MW and is also available on digital television, DAB radio and across the internet.
