This evening's FA Youth Cup second round meeting between Rovers and Brighton & Hove Albion is definitely on.

The fixture had been cast into some doubt following the postponement of last night's first team clash.

But the match official declared the pitch playable at an 11:00am pitch inspection today, and with the forecast pretty good for the remainder of the day, there is no doubt over the game taking place.

This evening's winners will go through to play Manchester United in the third round of the competition, and Under 18s boss Billy Clark is in confident mood ahead of the tie.

"It's a huge game for the lads," Billy told bristolrovers.co.uk, "When we played against Christchurch in the last round I used the chance to play under the lights against Brighton at the Mem as a carrot, and it seemed to work.

"But they know if they win this one then it's Manchester United away, and if that doesn't motivate them then nothing will.

"It's a big game, it's just unfortunate it's up against the England game on TV otherwise I'd hoped we'd get a decent crowd in to watch it."
