IGOE WORRIED FOR FUTURE
Sammy Igoe admits he is considering his Rovers future after what he has described as a "frustrating" start to the 2007/08 season.
The former Millwall midfielder picked up an injury ahead of the opening weekend of the campaign, and has been sidelined on the substitutes bench ever since.
The 31-year-old says the current situation isn't ideal for him, and with just a year left on his contract, he's already fearing the worst.
"I got a full 90 minutes under my belt on Monday in the reserves, which was pleasing," Sammy told bristolrovers.co.uk, "It wasn't a great game to be honest, but the main aim was for me to play 90 minutes and I've come through that ok.
"It's been frustrating for me. I didn't play a 90 minutes during pre-season and not to start the season or figure in the next game has been hard to take, but all I can do is wait for my chance.
"We'll have to wait and see what happens. There's competition for places but I'm obviously not happy about not playing. I'm going to have to fight for my place but the only problem I have is that I have a year left on my contract whilst Pipey has signed for three years so that tells me something really.
"I'll stay and fight for my place but, if after a month or so, I'm not playing I'm going to have to look to try and get some games somewhere else.
"I'm 31 now and need to be playing every week and if I don't play all year here, what happens at the end of the season. I know I shouldn't be thinking about that already but you have to be thinking of your family and your own career, so I'll just have to keep plugging away and hope for my chance and hopefully it will come for me.
"At every club I've been at I've always played, with the exception of Millwall, and have played almost 500 games and feel I need to be playing regularly.
"It was hard to take at the start of the season, though I was ill, not to be starting. All I can do is keep training get ninety minutes under my belt in the reserves and hopefully my chance will come."
