Stuart Campbell says the team have really enjoyed their first week in League One.

The club captain admits there was some disappointment in the dressing room after the 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, but says that overall the players are in good spirits.

The players enjoyed a rare Monday off training today ahead of a busy week of preparation for Oldham Athletic on Saturday and then West Ham United next Tuesday.

"We've really enjoyed the first week," Stuart told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We took a point from Port Vale, which we thoroughly deserved, and then although it would have been nice to take three points against Crewe, I think we can be pleased with the way we played.

"Given the performance during the week against Palace perhaps we have to look it as a point gained. Either way, we're quite pleased with how things are going so far, and we're looking forward to the games coming up.

"Sometimes you make lots of chances but just can't find a way through, and that seemed to be the case for us on Saturday. You have to hold your hands up and say it's not going to be your day.

"We played well, and the stats on possession and crosses make interesting reading. I don't think we've had as many chances from crosses in a long time, and if we could have defended our lead for a little longer then I'm sure we would have gone on to win the game without question.

"After the match Steve Phillips said he didn't have a save to make, all he had to do was pick the ball out of the net."

With Rovers confirming the move to Whaddon Road has been put back until May 2008, Stuart says the players can benefit from five extra months of the Memorial Stadium atmosphere.

"We only found out on Friday what was happening, and for me personally, I enjoy playing here," he said, "The atmosphere the fans create helps the lads out no end.

"On Saturday they stuck with us even when it wasn't all going our way, and for the last 20 minutes they helped us pin Crewe in. They have a big part to play, and from our point of view we like playing at the Mem with them behind us."
