WILL PUDDY SIGNS A NEW CONTRACT

2 July 2015

Goalkeeper Will Puddy has become the final member of last season's promotion winning side to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Manager Darrell Clarke was pleased to have tied the keeper to a new deal and said; "Will was very patient in waiting for his opportunity last season and pushed Steve Mildenhall all the way before securing a regular place in the side at the back end of the campaign and I’m pleased he has accepted the offer of a new contract.”

Chairman Nick Higgs added; “Will was a very important and valued member of our promotion winning side last season and was a huge asset to the squad.

“I’m delighted he has signed a new contract that keeps him at the club and wish him every success for the new season.”

The 27 year old shot stopper joined Rovers in August last year, initially as emergency cover for Steve Mildenhall, on a non contract basis.

He made his debut against Barnet in the second game of last season and later signed a deal that saw him remain at the Memorial Stadium for the rest of the season.

He went on to appear in 15 league games and enjoyed an extended run in the side towards the end of the campaign, appearing in our last ten games of the season, including the play off semi final games against Forest Green Rovers and the Promotion Final at Wembley.
