Speaking ahead of the fixture he said; “We are very pleased with our new playing surface and can’t wait to play on it. It’s all so new we haven’t even been able to train on it yet and to have Bristol Rovers come here for the official opening will make the afternoon very special.

“I have to say that the pitch looks fantastic and to tell everyone that the same surface being used by Scottish side Kilmarnock and French Rugby Union side Toulouse.

“It comes with a ten year guarantee and we have spent a great deal of money on it to ensure that it meets the needs of all the teams who will play here, including AFC Wimbledon Ladies and Sutton Common Rovers.

“In addition, all of our teams, which number 25, from U-8’s through to U-18, will be able to use the facility to train on so it really is a major dfeal for our club.

“For those who haven’t visited us before, we have a very compact ground with a capacity of 4,500 and any Bristol Rovers supporters travelling to see the game on Sunday will be made very welcome.

“In addition to having a well stocked bar, we are planning a hog roast and hope that a number of Gasheads will make a day of it and come along to support their team and take advantage of our hospitality.”

Darrell has named the following side for this match:

Ian McLoughlin, Daniel Leadbitter, James Clarke, Tom Parkes, Lee Brown, Jake Gosling, Ollie Clarke, Chris Lines, Toby Ajala, Ellis Harrison, Matty Taylor

Substitutes: Jay Malpas, Ryan Broom, Dominic Thomas, Alfie Kilgour

Barring any injuries sustained in training this week, these players will definitely be on duty this Sunday.
