WIN A SIGNED SHIRT & SUPPORT ST PETER'S

27 November 2013

Michael Smith and Ryan Brunt will be in store tomorrow.

St Peter’s Hospice shops throughout Bristol have had a blue and white quartered make over this month, thanks to a collaboration with Bristol Rovers.

Every Hospice shop throughout Bristol has been given a signed home and away shirt from the Pirates to display in their stores.

The charity is holding a silent auction in each shop, with the highest bidders walking away with their chosen shirt.

It is hoped that the initiative will bring in over £5,000 for the hospice.

Tomorrow (Thursday) Michael Smith and Ryan Brunt will be visiting the St Peter's Hospice store on Gloucester Road to sign autographs and meet with supporters at 2pm.

The fundraising campaign has been sponsored by Blackthorn, who kindly purchased and donated the shirts.

Bristol Rovers Commercial Director Barry Bradshaw said: “We are delighted to be able to support St Peter’s Hospice with this initiative.

“We have worked very closely with St Peter’s on a number of projects in the past as they are a wonderful local charity that really makes a difference in our community, touching the lives of thousands of people across Bristol.

“We wanted to find a way to further strengthen our relationship, and we thought this would be a brilliant way to raise money and awareness for the Hospice.

“This is also a fantastic opportunity for Rovers fans to pick up a signed shirt and do something for a good cause. With Christmas just around the corner, there can be no better present for the Gashead in your life!”

All the shirt winners will also be entered into a draw to win a special VIP Boardroom experience at the Memorial Stadium, as well as a year’s supply of Blackthorn.

The ten highest bidders across the 47 shops will also win a hospitality package for Bristol Rovers fixture against Cheltenham on New Year’s Day.

Caroline Booth-Morris, Corporate Fundraiser at St Peter’s Hospice said: “We are thrilled to be working with Bristol Rovers and Blackthorn on this campaign.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for Bristol Rovers supporters to secure themselves a signed shirt while raising valuable funds for us at the same time!

“We really hope that people come and visit us in our shops and place a bid – we want to welcome as many people as possible through our shop doors throughout the three week period!

“If you know a Bristol Rovers fan, why not take this opportunity to try and win them the best Christmas present ever!”

The silent auction will run until Thursday, December 5th, with special events planned for selected shops throughout the promotion.

Auction forms are available from individual shops, or can be downloaded from either www.stpetershospice.org.uk or www.bristolrovers.co.uk

Bristol Rovers are also encouraging supporters to support the Hospice by having a clear out. With Christmas just around the corner, now is a great time to get rid of all your old or unwanted clothes, books, games and other knick knacks.

The club has a clothes collection bin in the car park at the Memorial Stadium, so would like all fans coming to the next couple of home games, to go through the wardrobe and bring a couple of bags of donations with them to the game.

Everybody who posts a picture of themselves donating a bag on twitter using the hashtag #RoversSupportStPeters will win two tickets to a Bristol Rovers home game in the New Year.
