ROVERS WALKING FOOTBALL MOVE ONTO NATIONAL FINALS

20 May 2016

On Saturday 14th May, Bristol Rovers Community Trust’s over 50's Walking Football team took part in their very first competition in Exeter.

Competing against Exeter City, Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town, we finished as runners-up in the regional finals of the Football League Trust Walking Football Cup 2016, with a record of two wins, a draw and a defeat.

After finishing runners up we will now compete in the National Finals at The FA’s St George’s Park on 7th June.

If you're over 50 and fancy playing, the Community Trust has been running [pun intended] walking football since December 2015 and it is fast-becoming a great project for the Trust.

Sessions take place on:

- Tuesday evenings from 8pm-9pm at Bristol Metropolitan Academy in Fishponds (BS16 2HD).

- Thursday late mornings from 11am-12pm at the Goals Soccer Centre in Brislington (BS4 5RG).

Both of the walking football sessions are for adults aged over 50 and cost £3 per session. Fishponds is in the indoor sports hall and Brislington is outside on the 3G rubber crumb pitches.
