COMMUNITY TRUST DONATE ART MATERIALS

21 July 2014

Supplies to help children visiting the Rainbow Centre

The Bristol Rovers Community Trust has donated a range of art materials to a local centre that provides bereavement counselling to children.

Head of Education Adam Tutton visited the centre to drop off paint, brushes, play-dough, coloured sand, feathers and masks.

The Rainbow Centre for Children provides free and professional support to children and their families affected by life threatening illness and bereavement.

Centre manager Angela Emms said: “Thank you, very much for your generous support of The Rainbow Centre for Children through your donation of art materials.

“Your gift makes a real difference to our work as the materials will be used in our Art Therapy & Child Psychotherapy by the children and parents who come to us for therapy.

“By providing us with these materials you are freeing up our limited funds to pay for the actual therapy session in which they will be needed.

“Your gift will make a real difference to our work with children and their families from Bristol and the surrounding area including Somerset, South Wales and Gloucestershire.”

The centre offers art, music and massage therapies, counselling, group work, support and information.

Adam Tutton, Head of Education at Bristol Rovers Community Trust said: “Having had first hand experience of the fantastic work the Rainbow Centre do in helping support children and families through life threatening illnesses and bereavement, we are delighted to be able to help the centre with this donation of art materials for therapy sessions.

“The club is also hoping to further support this fantastic charity with a pre match bucket collection sometime this season".
