Ellis Harrison makes his Bristol Rovers debut!

On April 16th in 2011 at St Mary's Stadium, Southampton, Ellis Harrison made his Bristol Rovers debut aged 17.

He came on as a 75th minute substitute replacing Jo Kuffour in what was his only appearance of the 2010/11 season.

The young Welshman signed his first professional contract with the club in the summer of 2012 and has now gone on to made 78 total Bristol Rovers appearances in all competitions with 50 of those coming from the substitutes bench and he has found the back of the net on 18 occasions with 14 of those goals coming this season.

Harrison opened his Bristol Rovers account on Saturday 26th January 2013 scoring the second in a 1-3 away win against Rotherham at New York Stadium replacing Eliot Richards.

Things took a turn for the worst with his Rovers career as the Welsh Under-21 International was placed on the transfer-list at the end of last season but has come back stronger than ever for the 2014/15 campaign.

Ellis has made 35 appearances for the club this season (in all competitions) and a recent fantastic run of form has seen the youngster score seven goals in his last eight games and Assistant Manager Marcus Stewart has nothing but praise for the way he has performed this season.

"Ellis is a fantastic lad and is someone I really like as a person, but he understands that football is a results business and at the end of the day that's how he will be judged.

"He has worked really hard on the training ground all season long, but for him it was more of  a case of working out what we as a team wanted from Ellis.

"I think he has made great improvements to his game this season and I think some of that is to do with the fact that he has matured but you have to remember he is still only a young lad.

"He came into pre-season with the right attitude and has been able to understand the role that the team need him to play as well as his natural talent as a match winner.
