KEN TO 'WALK FOR VOTES'

15 November 2013

Rovers director to walk 40 miles for Fans4Life

Bristol Rovers director Ken Masters has begun his 40 mile walk to raise awareness of the Fans4Life Project.

The Bristol Rovers Community Trust needs your help to secure a lottery grant to set up a life-changing health and fitness project.

The Fans4Life project, which aims to improve the health and well-being of the people of Bristol and South Gloucestershire using an exercise and education programme, has been short-listed for a People’s Millions grant.

Ken, who is a keen walker, started his walk at the University of Gloucestershire’s Park Campus in Cheltenham this morning, and will be arriving at the Memorial Stadium at half time on Saturday.

His aim is to help raise the profile of the project and encourage supporters and local people to #VoteFans4Life

Our show will air on ITV’s People’s Millions on Monday, November 25th, with voting takes place from 9am to Midnight.

The Bristol Rovers Community Trust is an independent charity working within the community to improve the quality of life for local people

The Fans4Life project will target sports fans living in one of the poorest health areas of the South West.

Fans4Life will help sports fans who do very little exercise and are overweight to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle.

Research has shown that taking part in this programme could add 6 seasons to a fan’s life.

Fans4Life desperately needs this funding to support our local communities to access free ways to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.

If you vote for Fans4Life 10,000 sports fans and their families can change their lives.

The Peoples Millions is an annual TV competition run by Big Lottery Fund and ITV which awards Lottery funding to community projects that will improve the lives of local people.

This year there are four awards of up to £50,000 on offer in each of the 19 ITV regional news areas across the UK.

Please follow us on twitter @fans4life_ or visit our Facebook page www.facebook.com/fans4lifeofficial for more information about the project and how it can help change lives.
