JAKE GOSLING SET TO SIGN

19 June 2015

Gibraltar International set to put pen to paper

Preparations for life in League Two took a further step forward today as Jake Gosling has agreed a new contract with the club.

Gosling signed for the club last summer after he was released by League Two Exeter City and went of to make 28 appearances scoring three goals for Rovers this term.

The Gibraltar International graduated through the youth ranks at Exeter, before signing his first professional contract in April 2012.

He spent time on loan at Dorchester Town, before returning to Exeter and making his debut for the Grecians in January 2013.

In March 2014, Gosling joined Gloucester City on loan until the end of the season, scoring three times in 12 appearances.

The winger found the back of the net on three occasions this season including fantastic curling efforts to take all three points away at Southport and to open the scoring against Alfreton on the final league fixture of the 2014/15 campaign.

On hearing his desire to sign, Rovers boss Darrell Clarke had nothing but praise for the young winger.

"Jake is a terrific player who at times this season had to wait for his chance but I feel he grabbed his chance with both hands scoring important goals that won us football matches.

"He is still a youngster but I think he developed a lot as the season went on and we are hoping that will continue into the League Two."
