GET WELL SOON ELIOT RICHARDS

30 March 2015

The club send our best wishes to former player Richards

Everyone at Bristol Rovers sends their best wishes to former player Eliot Richards, who has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Eliot, who has played for Exeter City and Tranmere Rovers since leaving the Memorial Stadium, is currently with League Two side Cheltenham Town.

We understand that he will be undergoing treatment, which will include surgery, in the near future.

On hearing the news about the clubs former striker, Darrell Clarke said "When you hear news like that it serves to really puts everything into perspective.

"We are always going on about the pressure of winning football matches, but when you are told that a young lad has been diagnosed with testicular cancer everything else pales into insignificance.

"Eliot is a lad who came through at Bristol Rovers from a young age and represented the club very well throughout his time here. Our thoughts and best wishes go to Eliot and his family and I'm sure he will fight through it and win his battle."

We all hope that he makes a full recovery and that he is able to resume his career in the not too distant future.

Get well soon Eliot!
