GATESHEAD MATCH PACK

19 December 2014

All you need to know about this evening's opponents!

Bristol Rovers host last season’s Conference play-off finalists Gateshead, who make the five hour journey south to the Memorial Stadium.

Opposition: Following a successful previous season, Gateshead currently sit just outside the play-off positions after they hope to go one better this campaign. The Heed have currently lost just two away games this season, so it’s likely they’ll be stern opposition. However, having winning just 1 game in the last 5 matches (may need modify depending on result v Southport on Wednesday) the Tyne-and-Wear club are enduring a bad spell of form.

Dangerman - John Oster: The former Welsh international is currently the first name on the team sheet for Gateshead. Having started all 23 league matches for the Heed this season, the 36-year-old proves to be a consistent performer despite his old age. Enjoying Premier League and Championship football earlier in his career, Oster brings a whole host of experience to the field which the rest of the team benefits from.

Team News: Steve Mildenhall and Will Puddy contiune to be absent with their respective injurys.

Last Meeting: This is the first meeting between the two sides.
