DARRELL POST FOREST GREEN

18 October 2014

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke had every right to be annoyed that his side didn't take something from today's fixture with Forest Green Rovers. Clarke said:

"It was a very frustrating afternoon - we have to do better in front of goal.

"We've missed a few really good chances this game and we need to start taking them.

"I don't think we deserved to lose the match even with 10 men.

"We've got a set of lads who are working hard for each other but as a team we need to be more clinical."

The Rovers boss stated this week that he is looking to bring in another striker but has seen a bid turned down for a player this week.

"It's there for everyone to see, we need a striker and that's why i've put in a bid for someone this week.

"We need that player that is going to be hitting the back of the net more regualrly and that's what I have to find.

"We've had a bid turned down for a player this week and it is something that we need to look at before our next league game.

"Clubs don't want to sell their strikers and that is to be expected."

Rovers were reduced to 10 men having had Daniel Leadbitter given a straight red card for a challenge on Kurtis Guthrie with Darrell saying he will need to see the incident again before taking action.

"We will take a look at the red card but it was a challenge that I would expect Daniel to make.

"Both players went in for the ball but I would need to see the challenge again on the DVD.

Today's loss is Rovers first in 10 games with the Rovers boss stating that he won't be too hard on his players.

"These boys work hard for each other and have created enough chances to win the game today.

"We've lost 1 game in our last 10 and if we put together another run like that we will be challenging at the top of the table come the end of the season.
