DARRELL - PLEASED TO GET ALL THREE POINTS

21 March 2015

The managers post-match thoughts!

Bristol Rovers momentarily moved back to the top of the Vanarama Conference table last night after defeating Aldershot Town 3-1 under the lights at the Memorial Stadium and Darrell Clarke was delighted with the way his team performed.

"An point is massive throughout the season, but at this particular time of the season it is fantastic for us to pick up all three points.

"I felt we were in control for a large portion of the game and their goal knocked the stuffing out of us a little bit after we started the game really brightly.

"The changing room was a little bit subdued at half time so we picked them back up and went again and I thought we played some really good stuff and scored a couple of goals.

"We took the lead and the crowd were buzzing, then we concede a sloppy set piece goal which is very disappointing and I think we lost the momentum that we started the game with.

"In the second half we were out there all guns blazing and scored a couple of great goals.

Jermaine Easter made his Bristol Rovers home debut last night and scored after just 12 minutes and Darrell is glad he is back in the squad after frustrating period after joining in the transfer window.

"It is brilliant for him to get off the mark and it is good for him to get the match practice. He has been training hard but the more minutes he gets the stronger he will feel as a player.

"He has had a fantastic career and I think he still has plenty of years left in him and I think the fans appreciated the energy that he puts in off the ball with his movement and that is what he is like and that's why I brought him to the club.

"I know there will be plenty more to come from Jermaine but that's why I took him off after 70 minutes because he hasn't had a lot of minutes so it is important to manage him in the right way.
