Bristol Rovers were handed their first defeat on the road of the 2015/16 season, losing to table topping Leyton Orient who maintained their 100% start but manager Darrell Clarke says that his side doesn't fear anyone in the division.

"We were disappointed with the result but I think when you look at it, the first goal was a very soft penalty but it has happened now and it's something we have to deal with.

"Then we conceded just before half time which was a sucker punch because if we had gone in at half time only one goal down things could have been really different.

"However, Orient are doing well, they played well on the day but we weren't at the standards that we've set ourselves over the last few games but it gives us confidence that we aren't a million miles away from those sides right at the top of our division."

First year pro Tyler Lyttle made his professional debut at the weekend and was the man judged to have given away the penalty but Darrell has told us that he is a tough character and will come back stronger for the experience.

"I might have to do a little bit of man management with Tyler but I believe he has a very bright future in front of him and he will learn from it.

"I took him off at half time but that was because of a change in tactics but that is behind him now, he has been back on the training pitch this week and will be looking to get in the squad for the weekend."

Rovers changed formation in the second half against Leyton Orient bringing on wide players Cristian Montano and Jeffrey Monakana and the Rovers boss has praised the flexibility of his squad.

"We've been playing 3-5-2, on Saturday we changed to a 4-4-2 at half time and it worked a little better but we need to take a look at things for this weekend's game with Oxford to try and get the best system.

"Credit is due to the players we have at this football club that they can switch around at half time and still be so comfortable."

Jake Gosling [Gibraltar] and Ellis Harrison [Wales Under-21's] are away on International duty this week with many supporters wondering if either will be available for this weekend's fixture with Oxford United.

"Ellis [Harrison] is playing Friday night so will be reporting back to us on Saturday and he will be assessed to see if he is available for selection.

"However, Jake Gosling isn't due back until 8th September so he will definitely miss the Oxford game."
