DARRELL - A VERY TENSE GAME

28 March 2015

The managers post-match comments

Bristol Rovers and Macclesfield Town played out a tightly contested 0-0 draw today at Moss Rose and Darrell says that neither side would give an inch in the game.

"It was a very tense game and was a bit of a game of two halves.

"We started will in the opening 10/15 minutes then Macclesfield played some good stuff and showed why they have been in the top five all year.

"They had a real go at us and Puddy has pulled off a great save but in the second half I thought we started well and were the better side but it wasn't to be for the three points.

The wind was an issue for both sides during the game and Darrell said that the conditions definitely played their part.

"There was a large amount of wind going down the middle of the field which is probably why it turned into a game of two halves at times.

"We got ourselves in good counter attacking positions all game but failed to capitalise on it but we will brush ourselves down and take our hard earned point and move on.

"In future we need a few more calm heads in certain situations going forward but it is pleasing that we have got another clean sheet as well.

"We had our opportunities in the game to score goals and were probably guilty of not taking them but it clearly wasn't to be today.

"For me if you look at it, we've taken four points off of Macclesfield and there is a reason they've only lost two games at home all season. It's because they are a good team with good players who deserve to be in the playoff mix.
