COME ON DOWN!

5 October 2015

Manager Darrell Clarke is urging Rovers supporters to turn out in their numbers for tomorrow night’s game against Wycombe Wanderers in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

It’s a competition that holds fond memories for many Rovers supporters, who will recall our appearance in the final back in 2007 when we lost 3-2 in a thrilling encounter against Doncaster Rovers.

Speaking ahead of the game, Darrell said; “We were scheduled to play Wycombe twice this week, once in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and on Saturday in SkyBet League Two.

“However international call ups for Jake Gosling, Ellis Harrison and Tom Lockyer means that our game on Saturday has been postponed, so this will be our last home game until Tuesday 20th October when we entertain Notts County.

“We return to The Memorial Stadium having picked up six points, and scored seven goals, from two very difficult away games and I hope that there is a large crowd to see us endeavour to make progress in this competition.

“I will be putting out a strong side for the match and hope that as many supporters as possible will turn up to see what should be a very good game against a side who are second in the league standings at the moment.”

Darrell also took the opportunity to thank those supporters who clocked up 978 miles supporting his side at Hartlepool and Morecambe last week, saying; “The more I have come to know what this club means to so many people, the more I admire the supporters for their passionate backing of the side. To take almost 200 supporters to Hartlepool on a Tuesday night and close on 400 to Morecambe at the weekend was unbelievable and I would like to thank everyone who made those journeys.

“Tomorrow evening gives us the opportunity to say thank you to them and to those who were unable to travel and I hope we can reward them with a victory that would see us through to the next round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.”

Tomorrow’s game, at The Memorial Stadium, kicks off at 7.45pm and a reduced pricing system is in operation.

Terrace prices are £10 (Adults) and £5 (Concessions) and those prices also apply for anyone wishing to watch from the South Stand.

Prices in the West and Dribuild Stand are £15 (Adults) and £7 (Concessions).

A reduced sized matchday programme will also be available, priced at £1.
