Bristol Rovers return to the Memorial Stadium as they host table topping Barnet.

Opposition: League leaders Barnet have been the real pace setters from the outset having thumped Chester 0-5 at the Swansway Chester Stadium on the opening day of the season. The Bees are currently 9 points clear of second placed Grimsby with a rather substantial goal difference of +30. Their whopping goals for tally (49 goals scored) has been majorly helped by former Rovers loanee John Akinde.

Dangerman - John Akinde: Akinde has been leathal in front of goal this season for the Bees scoring 15 goals in all competitions. Having impressed for Alfreton last season Akinde earned his move to Barnet scoring in his first appearance against Rovers back in August. Earlier in his career, after impressing at Ebbsfleet, John signed for Bristol City in 2009, before moves to Crawley and Portsmouth were interspersed with a number of loan moves. Many Rovers fans will remember Akinde from his loan spell with Rovers back in the 2010/11 season where he made 18 appearances for the Gas, scoring 0 goals.

Opponents View - Manager Martin Allen: “They are a great club with fantastic supporters who are very passionate and love their football. I was gutted for them when they got relegated at the end of last season. It is just a matter of time that they get back up into the Football League.

“They will go back up at some point. It is always a difficult year, the first year after being relegated, but it is a real tough game for us going there to play against them tomorrow.

“It will be a big crowd and a passionate crowd and without a shadow of a doubt we will have to be at our very best to make it a good trip for us.”

Darrell's View: "They've got Martin Allen who has won promotions and is a very experienced manager and he has a very experienced backroom team.

"They've have done well and are at the top on merit and are on a good run, but we are on a good run ourselves so it is a great game to have, I'm sure our supporters will be right behind us and will be very vocal as always which I think will be very important.

Team News: The only noticeable absentee is goalkeeper Will Puddy who injured his arm in the GFA Cup Quarter-Final at the Mem last week.

Last Meeting: The last league meeting was back in August where Barnet ran out 2-0 winners at Underhill thanks to goals from John Akinde and Charlie McDonald.
