A CHAT WITH: LEE BROWN

5 March 2015

Lee talks about the clubs recent form and the defensive unit this season

Bristol Rovers are currently challenging at the top of a table for the first time since Lee Brown's arrival and the Rovers full back is happy with the fighting at the right end of the table.

"It is great to be a part of the squad and part of this run but now that we are on it we've got to work even harder to keep on it because it can end in an instant and all of the boys definitely recognise that.

"The hard work to get there has paid off in the last couple of weeks and I think we have found some consistency and we know what we are good at and we've got to stick to doing the basic things right like we have been doing.

"We don't want to over complicate things, we just need to focus on each game at a time and focus on getting all three points.

Rovers have a fantastic home record this season with 13 wins out of a possible 18 and Lee has praised the fans saying that their support really drives the squad on.

"Our home form has been fantastic pretty much the entire time that I have been here and that even includes when we got relegated and that is what the crowd at the Mem give you.

"Their support and the atmosphere really puts pressure on the other teams and they help us have that good home form.

The clean sheet at Gateshead last weekend was Rovers 18th of the season and Lee thinks that the defensive unit has been fantastic all season.

"I think you build a good team from the back and this defense has been together for a couple of years now and we all know how everyone plays all the way across the back four.

"We lost Michael Smith in the summer but we have two fantastic right backs this season in Daniel Leadbitter and Tom Lockyer and I think having that same unit has helped us all season.
