THREE TO WATCH: PETERBOROUGH UNITED

21 April 2017

Take a look at the potential threats in the ranks of Peterborough United ahead of Saturday's encounter.

#21 - Tom Nichols - Striker

The twenty-three-year-old arrived at the AMAX last February from Exeter City and has already made almost fifty appearances for the Posh, despite missing the closing stages of last season through injury.

In all competitions this term the striker has found the net on thirteen occasions, making him Peterborough's leading goalscorer for the campaign. Rovers fans will recall Nichols finding the net when the sides met back in October, with the striker scoring a dramatic late winner to give the Post a victory on the road.

In recent weeks the forward has been or target against Southend, Rochdale and Chesterfield, with five goals to his name since the start of 2017. Out of his thirteen goals so far this season, eight of those goals have come at home.

#13 - Craig Mackail-Smith - Striker

The 33-year old striker returned for his third spell at the Posh following a deadline day loan move from League Two outfit Luton Town.

The front man, who is on over 100 goals for the club after a hugely successful first spell at the ABAX Stadium.

Since re-joining Grant McCann’s side in January, Mackail-Smith has hit the back of the net on four occasions and will be looking to add to that on Saturday.

#11 - Marcus Maddison - Midfielder

After moving to Posh from Gateshead in the summer transfer window in 2014, Maddison has impressed with his goal scoring ability from midfield.

Capable of the spectacular, Maddison had his most productive season for the club last campaign and has caught the eye of numerous Championship clubs as a result.

He is a key player for Grant McCann with his ability to play a number of attacking positions and has scored 8 times this season, most recently coming in Posh’s win against Charlton at the start of the month.
