MATCH PREVIEW: CHELSEA vs BRISTOL ROVERS

23 August 2016

We take a quick look at today's opponents

Bristol Rovers go into today's game looking to progress into the Third Round of the EFL Cup.

Rovers: Darrell Clarke's men will be tackling Premier League opposition as they look to advance into the next round of the cup.

Team News: Rovers have a completely fit squad to pick from.

Darrell's View:”We're not going there for a day out, we are going there to win the football match.

"At the end of the day, it's 11 men vs 11 men. We will have to be at the top of our game to get something out of the game."

Opposition: Tonight's opponents Chelsea have had a winning start under new manager Antonio Conte with Premier League victories over West Ham United and Watford.

Dangerman - Michy Batshuayi: The Belgian International signed for Chelsea in the summer for a fee believed to be upwards of £30 million. Batshuayi came off the bench for Conte's side at the weekend against Watford and opened his Chelsea account before Diego Costa wrapped up all three points. It is unlikely that the Spaniard will feature this evening, leaving Batshuayi to lead the line against Darrell Clarke's side.

Last Time Out: The two sides met last in 1981 where Rovers recorded a 1-0 win against the now Premier League side thanks to David Williams goal at Eastville.

Tickets: Tonight's game is completely SOLD OUT.
