JAKE GOSLING JOINS CAMBRIDGE UNITED ON LOAN

18 August 2016

Six-month loan deal for Rovers midfielder

Rovers’ midfielder Jake Gosling has today joined League Two side Cambridge United on six-month loan deal.

Although on the bench for Sunday’s game against Oxford United, he hasn’t been given any game time in our opening three games of the season.

‘Gos’ who first joined Rovers two years ago has since made 41 league appearances, scoring four goals in the process and last season he spent a short time on loan with Newport County, where he made six appearances.

A graduate of Exeter City's Academy, Jake went on to score once in 12 outings for the Grecians and during his Exeter career he enjoyed loan spells at Dorchester Town and Gloucester City.

He made his international debut for Gibraltar, against Estonia, in May 2014 and scored the goal that earned his country a 1-1 draw.

Having announced that he would be leaving Exeter, he subsequently put pen to paper on a contract with Rovers, arriving at the Memorial Stadium in June 2014.

Jake made his Rovers debut when going on a substitute in the opening game of the season, against Grimsby Town.

Jake scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win against Nuneaton Town on 16th September 2014.

He appeared in the Promotion Final Play Off game against Grimsby Town, in 2014/15, and signed a new contract in the summer of 2015 and signed a new contract this summer as the club prepared for the step up to League One.

We wish ‘Gos’ every success during his loan spell with Cambridge and look forward to seeing him back at The Mem in the New Year.
