DID YOU SEE?

27 March 2017

Everyone associated with Bristol Rovers Football Club would like to thank almost all of the 4,069 supporters who travelled to support the team at The Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

This is the most number of fans we have taken away for a league game for many, many, years, and reflects well on the positivity surrounding the club at this moment in time.

However whilst the passionate support given to the team was second to none, unfortunately we have been advised that a very small minority of our supporters did not represent our great club as we would have liked.

Post-match there was, apparently, an unprovoked attack/assault on a 24 year old Coventry City fan on Judds Lane, near the road leading to Rowleys Green Lane and several taxis were waiting on the road as the incident happened.

The perpetrator, who was around 6’ tall and accompanied by a friend, was wearing a black jacket which had a Bristol Rovers logo on it.

Other fans leaving the ground had apparently been accosted by these two and the traffic attendants who were working around the traffic lights near the big roundabout outside the ground had spotted the taller man.

We do not want individuals like this associated with Bristol Rovers Football Club and we would ask if any of our fans witnessed the incident in question, or knows the name of either of those involved, to help trace the individuals involved.

Staff at The Ricoh Arena are scanning their excellent CCTV footage, but any assistance Bristol Rovers supporters are able to offer would be greatly appreciated and treated as confidential.

Witnesses can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or West Midlands Police on 101 and ask for that police service or contact Bristol Rovers on 0117 909 6648 option 9.

Thank you, in advance, for any assistance you can provide.
